The Kennedale Lady Kats have made it a habit of going to regionals – six years in a row now. Need to know about Lubbock, where to go, where to stay, just ask the coaches. {{more}} It wasn?t always Lubbock. Before Lubbock it was east Texas and Commerce.

Kennedale enters regional play as an unranked team. In this same foursome is #5 Abilene Wylie (28-5), #13 Shallowater (27-5) and unranked Stephenville (21-12). For its first game in the regional semifinals, the Lady Kats have drawn Shallowater.

The game will be played at 8:30 p.m. on Friday night in the late game of the double header. Abilene Wylie will face-off against a surging Stephenville team at 7 p.m. None of these teams are strangers to Lubbock. Abilene Wylie has bested Kennedale several times in Lubbock while Kennedale defeated Stephenville last year in the regionals to win a final four slot in Austin.

Kennedale will enter as an underdog but in this region, as the defending champions, Kennedale is still the one to watch.
