??You may not know it but?Kennedale?features two top 10 teams in 3A basketball.?Kennedale?does have a reputation for strong, competitive basketball in both boys? and girls? basketball and this year is no exception. The?Ladycats?started the year as #1 and is currently ranked #2 with a record of 12-2. The?Wildcatsstarted the year at #10 and are currently ranked #8 with a record of 11-1. Both the girls and boys teams have played a tough early season schedule against strong 3A, 4A and 5A teams and have walked away with victories.? ?

?Coach Doug Groff?s Wildcats have had a very good season so far winning tournaments in Van and Glen Rose. This year?s Wildcats feature a balance team with a good supporting bench. The stretch run between now and end of the first semester includes three games at home Everman (8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 11), Waco Connally (6:30 p.m Friday, Dec 14) and Ranchview (8 p.m Tues, Dec 18) and at Stephenville (6 p.m. Friday 21). Like the Ladycats, the Wildcats will be playing a highly regarded holiday tournament (Whatburger) which features 13 teams out of 16 which are currently ranked in the top 25 teams in the state in 3A and 2A basketball. Kennedale is scheduled to play Fort Worth Christian 10:00 a.m December 27 to kick off the tournament which runs through the 29th.
