While one game does not make a season, it sure can let in some sunshine. The Kennedale defense, playing up to potential, shut down the Pojos offense, allowing only 68 yards while scoring 2 defensive touchdowns both by 5-Star recruit Baron Browning (Sr). With the defensive onslaught, Springtown fumbled five times, losing three.

The offense responded with their best offensive game of the year by rolling up 406 yard in Kennedale fashion with 386 yards on the ground and did not turn over the ball once. They had 20 first downs and averaged 6.7 yds per play. Jaden Knowles (Jr) was the top rusher with 15-108-2TD followed by DJ Kirven (So) 15-76-TD, OB Evan Jowers (So) 9-72, Braelin Brown (Jr) 8-57-TD, David Roper (Jr) 7-47 and Jakari Stafford 3-24-1TD. It should be noted that Kirven had two big touchdown runs called back on penalties and that QB Jowers has been a surprising spark this season on offense with his ability to get the big gain.
Kennedale only threw the ball five times with Jowers going 3-5 for 22 yards. Malik Burgess (Sr) was 2-13 in receiving followed by Jaden Smith (So) with 1 catch for 9 yards.homecoming next week …
The Cats will play FTW Diamond Hill-Jarvis (0-5) next week for homecoming at Wildcat Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m. This will be followed by another district showdown game with Kennedale taking on the Mineral Wells Rams (5-1) in two weeks.
