On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, the James F. Delaney Elementary Student Council received a proclamation from the Kennendale City Council for their donation of 3, 841 food items donated to the First United Methodist Church of Kennedale for their food pantry.? {{more: continue …}}

The food drive is held each year at Delaney Elementary in honor of a former beloved employee, Linda Kaye Huckabay, who worked for Delaney Elementary for 19 years. Mrs. Huckabay who passed on May 25, 2017 was well known for her passion of the annual food drive and for the love of her community.?She was well known for sorting through and counting the cans and items that were donated each year by students, staff and families of Delaney Elementary.?
The city went as far to declare Tuesday, December 11, 2018, “Linda Huckabay Thanksgiving Food Drive Day”, an honor that we all know would fill her heart with so much joy!

Thank you Delaney Elementary for continuing this tradition in her honor.
