?We meet a lot of people over the course of a day and during our weekly schedule. We share many events with others whether it is at our children?s [grandchildren] activities or business/community meetings. These contacts are more formal or related to the “business at hand”.?But when you sit down and share a common meal with no agenda, no presentations and the meal is the activity, this becomes a special kind of informal social event so unusal as to be listed on the endangered list.?It is not a family dinner although those are hard to find now. It is not a political event where you are seemingly forced to take someone’s side over another. It is not a religious event even though it is held at a church hall. It is just a supper to be enjoyed for the fellowship.?The Thursday Community Supper kicked off last week at Dover Hall (FUMC Kennedale), 208 Municipal Drive in Kennedale. It will continue this Thursday at 6:30 pm.?The meal itself is simple, the chance to talk and relax with others is special.?Bring a friend(s), your family, a neighbor who doesn’t get out much or just yourself.
