It is Round 3 of the Texas State 4A Volleyball playoffs and the Lady Kats of Kennedale will take on the Irving Ranchview Wolves. Both teams won their district without a loss. Kennedale going 12-0 and Ranchview was 8-0.?Ranchview reached the 3rd round by defeating Castleberry (25-21, 25-10, 25-14) and then Aubrey in a four-set match where they dropped the first set but came by to win the next three (21-25, 29-27, 25-21, 25-21).?Compared to Kennedale, Ranchview is loaded with seniors listing 9 on their 13-member roster. They also list a freshman, a sophomore and two juniors. In common opponents this year, Kennedale and Ranchview lost to 5A McKinney North (26-10) and both beat Oak Cliff Family.
Ranchview is unranked while Kennedale is 16th in both MaxPreps and the Texas Girls Coaches Association.?2018 ??Last year Ranchview entered the playoffs as district champs and defeated Castleberry in first-round action before falling to Sanger in the area bracket.?It was Sanger who then knocks off Kennedale in 3rd round action. Kennedale made it a match to remember as the Lady Kats won the first set 25-23 but lost the next two. Facing elimination the Kats stormed back to win the 4th set 25-14 but running on empty, the Kats lost the final match.?District 9/4A Update …?Only Kennedale made it through to the third round.?
