PRESS RELEASE: Chris Pugh Campaign?To My Friends, Supporters, and Fellow Kennedalians;?A little more than 2 years ago I made the decision to enter the race for Kennedale City Council Place 2. I ran with the goal of moving Kennedale forward and stated my priorities around growth of the tax base, infrastructure repair, compensation of the staff, and the many issues related to our water utility system. {{more: continue …}}?As a member of the council I have done my best in taking steps to accomplish these goals. Many of these will take time to be fully achieved but I believe I have done my best to put things into motion and honor the commitments I made when I ran for office.?We have partnered with Arlington to maintain and operate our water system and have already seen the benefits economy of scale can provide to Kennedale. Several developments have gained council approval and will add new businesses and a variety of housing choices to the city in the coming months and years. We implemented and fully funded the step program for first responders and adjusted compensation for the civilian staff as well. A number of engineering studies for street upgrades and repairs are underway and the Safe Routes to School program will brings sidewalks and traffic controls around several school campuses.?Although many positive steps have been taken, we still have a long journey ahead of us. I have played a small part in helping to move Kennedale, in what I believe, is a positive direction.?While it has not been without its challenges, we have found answers and solutions to almost every issue we have faced in recent months. There are still decisions to be made as we look towards the future of the community and I have a strong willingness to be a part of the council as these decisions are made.?It is with this desire to remain on the council and be a voice for those who supported me the past 2 years I am announcing my candidacy for reelection to Kennedale City Council Place 2 in May of 2020.
