Donny Darville and Hunter McGahan signed football letters of intent with two NCAA Division II universities today. Donny signed with Henderson State and Hunter signed with West Texas A&M.
Donny Darville (RB, 5-8, 160 lbs) was one of thirty Texas athletes and one of two running backs recruited by Henderson State University located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Henderson State is a 4 year liberal arts college founded in 1890. Current enrollment is approximately 3,800. The University is a member of NCAA II Great American Conference. McGahan (LB, 6-2, 215) was one 54 signed with West Texas A&M. West Texas is a four year university founded in 1910 in Canyon, Tx. Enrollment is approximately 8,300. It is member of NCAA II Lone Star Conference composed of teams from Texas and Eastern New Mexico State. West Texas issued the following information today about the new football recruits.
Fresh off of one of its most successful seasons in school history, West Texas A&M head football coach Mike Nesbitt announced the 2014 high school recruiting class, which includes the signing of 54 student-athletes to play for the Buffaloes. Overall, the Buffs added 29 student-athletes on offense and 25 on defense.
“I am extremely excited about this 2014 recruiting class, Nesbitt said. “As a staff, we are quite confident we have recruited and signed the student-athletes capable of making a difference within our football program and university. Our coaching staff has done an excellent job canvasing the state for the talent that fits our needs. We are very pleased with the outcome of our recruiting efforts and I am certain our fans will be as well.”
