Downes finishes successful career at Tarleton

Downes was a 2013 graduate of Kennedale High playing under Coach Vance Hughes on a team that won three straight district championships, four straight area championships and played in four regional finals.
 
In her senior year, the team won the regional finals and went on to play in the state championship game before losing.
 
She was a first-team all-district selection as a sophomore, junior and senior and was a three-time all-region selection and back-to-back all-state honoree.

In her freshman year she helped Tarleton reach the second round of the NCAA regional tournament and played in 23 games for Tarleton in her first collegiate season.

 
Overall, Downes played in 107 games in her four years with the purple and white, helping Tarleton reach the national playoffs in her freshman and senior seasons.
 
Downes finished her Tarleton career with 422 points, including a career high 204 in her senior year along with 294 total rebounds.

Since her freshman year at Kennedale High School, Downes has never played for a team with a losing record.
