Earl Richard Nikolas, Sr., age 90 of Arlington, passed away on February 14, 2018 at his home. Funeral Services were held at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22. {{more: continue …}}Burial followed at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Earl was born on May 19, 1927 in Marble Rock, Iowa, the son of Edwald Nikolas and Mary Marzen Nikolas. Earl married Jeanette Croell and they celebrated 66 years of marriage before his passing.

He was raised on the family farm in Iowa. Earl proudly served in the US Army in Germany during WWII. He and his wife spent many years raising horses and show horses. Earl worked for Briggs Transportation at a truck driver for 33 years before his retirement.?In recent years, Earl spent many days playing Bingo and socializing at the Kennedale Senior Center.

Earl is survived by his wife Jeanette; children Mary Deike and husband Dave, Julie Freese, Earl R. Nikolas II and wife Kathie, Michael Nikolas and wife Lori, Lori Hildestad and husband Larry, Patrick Nikolas and wife Theresa, and Kristi Demuth and husband Joel; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother Eugene Nikolas; sisters Betty Ewoldt and Francys Klages.?
