Elementary Chemists? Local Students Participate in Chemistry Challenge

? ? ?Sixth grade students from James Arthur?Intermediate were invited to take the qualifying test for the You Be the Chemist Challenge. The challenge was sponsored by the chemical Education Foundation earlier this year. Challenge competition questions were based on an over-all understanding of chemistry concepts and the relationships among the various chemistry concepts. {{more}}

? ? ?The top three scorers were eligible to participate in the local challenge at Speed Zone in Dallas. The two students who qualified and competed were Tommy Crisp and Liberty Ward. They received prizes as well?as a certificate and trophy for winning at the school level. Clay Hilton qualified, but did not compete in Dallas. Runners-up were Clay Yeary and Ramon Marquez.
