James Carmen Pratt was born in Arlington, Texas, as the only child to Carmen and Nina Pratt on September 1, 1946. After graduating from Kennedale High School in 1965, he attended Weatherford Junior College in Weatherford, Texas and Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas.? {{more: continue ?}}

While in college, he was drafted by the Army where he proudly served in Germany from 1966-1969. After returning from Germany, he married Betty Ann Goggans on December 31, 1969 in Arlington, Texas. They later had two sons, Toby and Troy.
James worked the remainder of his career as an Audio-Visual Technician for the Arlington Independent School district, for 38 years, before retiring in 2008.
James was a dedicated and loving father who took pride in coaching his sons? Little League baseball teams over the span of their childhood. He also enjoyed playing softball, golfing, bowling, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

James will be remembered for his ability to always see the good in others, his devotion and love to his family, and his sarcastic sense of humor.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Nina Pratt.
James is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty; a son Toby Pratt of Arlington, and his wife, Veronica, and their daughter Summer; son Troy Pratt of Arlington, and his wife, Melissa, and their son Caiden.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. The family of James wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at Arlington Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care.
Funeral service for James will be Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 11:30AM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale with interment to follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 6:00-8:00PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale.?
