The new cadets are Sergio Barriga, Kitwanna Darroux, Trinity Galvan, Alex Macalik, Kayla Garcia, Gannon Hodge, Kennethia Jones, Sarah Macellaro, Seth Poroulek, Jordan Saunders, Colton Warren and Ty?Keonna Washington.?
To be selected, students had to complete program applications, essays, oral interviews, and background checks.

Nine week program …?This is a nine week program that will runs from January 14 ? March 22, 2019. The student cadets will meet and train with officers in the various fields within the law enforcement profession. Topics will range from demonstrations from SWAT officers and K-9 teams, how to perform traffic stops, correctly lifting finger prints and more.

The group will also participate in community service projects and have already completed two, repainting student desks in the student detention area at the high school and collecting food and clothing items for a local family in need.???????Mission Statement …??
The mission statement for the program is to enable dedicated youth to become self-assured, caring and disciplined adults in a challenging environment and to instill confidence and courage in the legal process and the officer sworn to serve and protect the community. Through classroom instruction, lecture, field trips and physical training, we will foster in each recruit the ability to approach police officers and nourish a friendship between the youth of society and its Police Officers.

Note: While attending the Academy will not make the participant a certified peace officer, it will give the high school cadets a chance to learn about law enforcement opportunities.
