The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 10 incidents for the one week period January 13, 2018 through January 19, 2019. The reports included thief, criminal mishief, found property, indecency and assault. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

1/14 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 10:56 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male and female had been arguing when, according to the male, the female struck him in the mouth with her fist. The female advised that the male had pushed her to the ground causing a slight injury to her arm. The female had a ride to another location and neither party would provide a written statement. Due to the temporary separation and the fact that a primary aggressor could not be determined, a report was made for investigators to follow-up on.

1/15 – Indecency with Child/ Sexual Contact – At 9:00 a.m. an investigator received a report of a possible Indecency with a Child complaint. A parent reported that a family member who does not reside with them had touched his child inappropriately. A forensic interview was scheduled. The case is still under investigation.

1/15 – Possession Control Substance – 1200 block of Kennedale Parkway: At 2:56 a.m. officers responded to an assist call from Fort Worth police. A Fort Worth officer had observed a male steal from the QT on Kennedale Parkway. The male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. He was arrested for the contraband and transported to jail for booking.

1/17 – Abandoned/ Found Property – 600 block of Wildcat Way: At 8:37 am. A reporting person gave an IPad to an officer. The IPad was found in the street at Wildcat Way and Sublett Road. The item was placed in property for safe keeping until an owner can be located.

1/17 – Indecency with a Child – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:30 p.m. an officer received a report of a child having inappropriate contact with an adult at the child?s school. The child made an outcry to parents when the adult was charged with the same offense on another child. A forensic interview was scheduled for the child. The case is still under investigation.

1/17 – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Info – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:00 p.m. an investigator received a complaint of identity theft. A male stated that he had been notified of an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Kennedale for a traffic violation. The male stated that he believes that it was his brother who was stopped and cited. The male stated that this has happened numerous times in the past. The investigator was able to confirm the information and located the brother, who was in jail at the time. The male was advised to come by the police department and fill out an identity theft packet.

1/18 – Incident (other) – 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:54 a.m. officers received a request to assist Forest Hill officers in a pursuit. The vehicle being pursued was stolen and was fleeing on Dick Price Road toward unincorporated Tarrant County. The vehicle stopped on Townsend Road and the occupants fled. The passengers, all juveniles, were apprehended at the scene. The driver had fled on foot but was detained by Mansfield police a short distance away. All subjects were released to Forest Hill officers.

1/18 – Assault Bodily Injury – Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 3:15 p.m. a school resource officer observed a disturbance in a class room. A juvenile male exited the room and appeared to be highly agitated. The male is known to the officer from previous contacts and has behavioral issues. It was later determined that the male had assaulted a female classmate during the disturbance because he had been asked to be quiet during class. The male was verbally expressing inappropriate communications with several classmates. The victim?s mother stated that she wanted a charge of assault filed. A charge will be referred to the Juvenile Justice Center.

1/19 – Criminal Mischief Under $100 – Peachtree Court: At 12:00 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance. Officers had already been at the residence twice in the shift. A male suspect was reported to be destroying items in the home due to being heavily intoxicated. The female victim was the suspect?s girlfriend with whom he shares the residence. The suspect was placed under arrest for the damage and was transported to jail for booking after being treated by medics.

1/19 – Theft $100 to $750 – Valley Lane: At 10:42 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) illegally removed two marine batteries and two solar panels from a boat. The items were valued at $675.00.
