This provides an opportunity for select high school basketball players from the metroplex and beyond to show their stuff while recruiters take note. Among the players was Uniikye Washington from Kennedale, who continues to impress.
 
Washington will be a senior this year for the Wildcats after earning 1st Team All-District honors as junior on a team that went 12-0 in district play and reached the 4A Region I Quarterfinals.
 
 
Washington, a point guard listed at 5?11? and 165 lbs and who averaged 14.3 points per game, got good reviews over the weekend of play.
 
One evaluation of the top talent over the weekend included Washington and had this to say, ?A solid setup man with a good feel and ability to get to his spots within the offense. Washington?s play doesn?t stand out to the average eye but his poise at the point was key to DME?s success on Friday and has been this spring.?
 
Washington in another review has been called a ?high IQ floor general.?
 
Washington?s will be one of the major keys to a successful season for the Wildcats next year. His skills and his leadership will be needed for the Cats to repeat.
