KHS student earns national merit commendation

Kennedale High School senior Chris Chen has earned a commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program for 2017. {{more: continue …}}
 
This places Chen in the top 3.5% of students who took the PSAT this past year.
 
According to the National Merit Program, approximately 1.5 million high school students take the PSAT each year. Of those, 50,000 (3.3%) are Commended Scholars, and 16,000 (1.1%) are chosen as National Merit Scholar Semifinalists.
 
Chris plans to attend UTA next year, majoring in computer science and afterwards attend graduate school for an advance degree.
 
He is the son of Shufang Lin and Kuochiang Chen.
