KISD Calls Meeting Thursday to consider tax rate

The KISD Board of Trustees will meet in special session this Thursday at 6 pm in the KISD Media Center at 901 Wildcat Way in Kennedale. The meeting was called to consider a proposed tax rate for the 2015 and to set a date for a public meeting to discuss the budget and the proposed tax rate. {{more}}

Other items added to the agenda include a review of Campus Improvement Plans; discuss and consider personnel needs of the district (closed session as per Texas Government Code 551.071 and 551.074, if needed) including any resignations/retirements, hiring of personnel, other matters concerning personnel; and, discuss and consider 2015-2016 pay increase for teachers, librarians and nurses.

Last month the Board gave approval to the proposed budget but now must adopt a tax rate to finalize the approval process. In other business last week the Board agreed to an increase in rental fees for district facilities, discussed ?bad weather day? option (more information still needed from the Texas Education Agency about a recent rule change) and received information about disbursement of funds from the Kennedale Education Foundation.
