The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 8 incidents for the one week period January 20, 2018 through January 26, 2019. The reports included DWI, assault, possession and theft.?{{more: continue …}}
These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

1/20 – Aggravated Assault (Serious Bodily Injury) – At 4:22 a.m. officers responded to an assault complaint. A male victim stated that he and his intoxicated adult female roommate were in an argument when the female grabbed a kitchen knife and cut the victim on the hand. The victim was bleeding profusely and was transported to Mansfield Methodist Hospital for treatment. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.?
1/20 – Driving While Intoxicated – 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:07 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle stopped at a traffic light. When the light turned green the vehicle remained stopped. The officer approached the vehicle where the adult male driver appeared to be passed out behind the wheel. After getting out of the vehicle, the driver was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested and transported to jail from booking as well as a blood draw.

1/20 – Possession Drug Paraphernalia – 1200 block of N. Little School Road: At 12:59 p.m. officers observed a suspicious vehicle behind a vacant building. When the officers approached the location, the vehicle containing two males drove away. The vehicle, a mini-van, was stopped a short distance away. The males stated that they were at the location to do electrical work but had no identification or work order. One of the males had arrest warrants issued for him. He was arrested for transport to jail. During a search he was found to have drug paraphernalia and a bag with trace amounts of methamphetamine.

1/22 – Application for Mental Detention and Observation -? At 5:11 p.m. officers responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed person. An adult male was arguing with family members and threatening suicide. He was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation.

1/23 – Theft $100 to $750 – Bowles Court: At 1:45 a.m. an officer observed a known adult male driving a truck. The truck was towing a trailer with a motorcycle on it. The male parked the vehicle in front of his residence and went inside. The officer then ran the registration for the trailer, which belonged at a nearby residence. The owner was contacted by the officer and she stated that the trailer should be at her home. She desired to report the trailer stolen. The officer returned to the original location but could not locate the male. The truck, trailer, and motorcycle were still parked at the curb on the street. The truck VIN showed that vehicle to be reported stolen out of Arlington. The truck and trailer were impounded. The motorcycle was not currently registered but was seized to be held for further investigation since no owner could be located. .

1/24 – Possession Control Substance – 500 block of Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 11:01 a.m. officers responded to a welfare check on a male who had made threats to his brother. The male was located at a residence and was parked outside in his vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers discovered that the male was unharmed but did have methamphetamine sitting in plain view on his vehicle console. He was arrested for the narcotics and transported to jail for booking.

1/24 – Incident – At 8:55 p.m. an adult female reported that her juvenile daughter was the victim of an offense. A known juvenile male had posted a nude photo of the victim on-line. The posting was thought to be in retaliation for the victim?s mother not allowing her to date the suspect. The case is under investigation.

1/25 – Theft $100 to $750 – 5600 block of E. IH 20: At 1:02 p.m. officers responded to a theft report. A male was observed removing $605.00 in clothing and running out of the business. The theft was observed by employees and was captured on video.
