Once again Kennedale and Springtown are tied …
The Kennedale Lady Kats had to travel to Springtown last Tuesday to play the half-game back Lady Porcupines. Last month, the Porcupines came knocking on the door and Kennedale sent them home with a loss 3-1 and claimed sole possession of first place. {{more: read more … }}
Loss in Springtown …
Tuesday, wanting to return the favor, Springtown did so, but not without a fight by Kennedale. The Lady Kats took it to maximum before losing 3-2. Every set was contested.
Springtown took the first 25-18 but Kennedale stormed back to win set 2 by 26-24. Set three went to Springtown 25-21. Needing to get a 3 set win, Springtown hoped to close it out in the 4th game. Kennedale had other ideas and tied the match with a win 25-21.The two teams faced off in the final tie breaking set which required only 15 points to win. Again, matching the caliber of play on both sides thus far, this final set was a thriller but one that Springtown came away with the win 15-13 and the match 3-2.
With the win, Springtown (17-8, 7-1) moved into a tie with Kennedale (13-23, 7-1) in District 5/4A.
Victory on Friday …
Friday night the Lady Kats took on Benbrook the #3 team in the district. Benbrook took the first match 23-25 but Kennedale followed with three straight wins, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-12. Benbrook fell to 21-14 over-all and 5-3 in district.

Tonight, Tuesday, October 10, Kennedale will travel to Lake Worth with the varsity game set for 6 pm. This Friday the Lady Kats will have the night off before returning to play Diamond Hill-Jarvis next Tuesday, October 17 at Diamond Hill.
