Kaufman has played a tough schedule so far. Losing against 5A Terrell (3-0) 15-6, Fairfield (3-0) 42-28 and Gainesville (2-1) 14-7.
In region 8- 4A the Kaufman Lions are picked to finish second behind Athens. The Lions return 3 players on offense and 6 on defense. Kaufman finished 8-4 last year and were an area finalist in the playoffs.
Kaufman?s offense has yet to jell but the Kaufman defense should present a challenge to Kennedale.
What to watch:
- Kaufman, who traditionally has a strong football program is due a win plus they are playing in front of a home crowd.
- Kennedale is flying high with their best start in several years at 3-0 and has to avoid a letdown. All parts of the game seem to working for the Wildcats and the challenge will be to keep the focus.
