Kennedale Football team faces BurkBurnett tonight in first round 7:30 p.m.

In the first round of UIL playoffs the Kennedale Wildcats (6-4. 5-0) face off against the District 5-3A BurkBurnett Bulldogs (4-6, 1-3) tonight at Springtown (click on Springtown for stadium info).

Kennedale is favored to win but BurkBurnett has several threats. Quarterback Bryan Lewis (Jr) has{{more}} passed for 883 yards with a 55% completion rate and six touchdowns, but, they do like to run the ball.

Lewis again figures large in their rushing game with 746 yards and 14 touchdowns. The leading rusher is fullback Marquis Askew (Jr) with 1167 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Senior standout linebacker Brady Brunson leads the team with 131 tackles. The Bulldogs returned 9 players on offense and 11 players on defense off a 2 and 9 team from last year.

The Bulldogs were winners over Iowa Park, Krum, Mineral Wells and Bridgeport this year. They have made the playoffs the last 7 years.
