The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the two week period February 16, 2020 through February 29, 2020. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, have been deemed unfounded.

KPD Incident Reports: 02/16/20 ? 02/22/20

2/16 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Member) – At 11:56 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A husband and wife had been in a physical altercation over their impending divorce before officers arrived. The husband exhibited injuries consistent with his account of being assaulted by his wife. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

2/16 ? Recovered Stolen Vehicle (Other Agency)?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 9:22 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle in the parking lot of a business. The license plate, which was displayed on a Toyota Tundra, was supposed to be on a Chevrolet. A check on the VIN revealed the vehicle to be stolen out of Fort Worth. It was turned over to Fort Worth officers who arrived on scene.

2/17 ? Missing Person (Juvenile)?Pennsylvania Avenue -?At 9:36 a.m. a foster parent reported his juvenile foster son as missing.

2/17 ? Abandon/Found Property?E. Kennedale Parkway -?At 1:49 p.m. a business manager turned over to police a small bag of suspected narcotic found in his business. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

2/18 ? Drugs/Narcotics?North Road -?At 1:25 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The male driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and pain medication.

2/17 ? Animal Bite?Oak Crest Dr. West -?At 2:43 p.m. an officer received a report of a dog bite. A delivery driver for a parcel service reported that she was bitten by a large brown dog while delivering a package.

2/17 ? Cruelty to an Animal E. Kennedale Parkway -?At 1:47 p.m. an officer received a report of two deceased dogs. The dogs were found in a vehicle that was stored on the owner?s property. It is unknown how the animals got into the vehicle at this time.

2/18 ? Burglary?North Road -?At 9:26 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown male had illegally entered a storage building and removed a pole saw.

2/18 ? Theft $30,000 to $150,000?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 7:26 p.m. officers responded to a car theft in progress. A victim reported leaving his vehicle running while he entered a business. The vehicle was stolen and driven away by a juvenile male. The male?s juvenile female accomplice was held by the vehicle owner and taken into custody by officers on the scene.

2/18 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Tealpond Drive -?At 1:30 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) broke into his vehicle and removed personal property.

2/19 ? Robbery?Reeves Lane -At 8:59 a.m. officers responded to a fight in progress. A mother and son were fighting as she attempted to prevent the son from taking her vehicle. The mother fired several shots at her vehicle as it left the scene. The son, who was not injured, was taken into custody a short distance away.

2/21 ? Abandon/Found Property?Trent Street -?At 5:39 p.m. an officer spoke to two persons who were concerned about the welfare of a roommate, who owns the house they were all staying in. Due to prior knowledge of the situation from an earlier call, the officer informed the pair that the roommate was safe with family and that no one was allowed on the property. The key to the house was voluntarily turned over to police so that it could be returned to the home owner.

2/21 ? Incident (Other)?S. Dick Price Road -?At 4:24 a.m. officers responded to a possible child abduction. Investigation revealed that it was not an abduction but a child custody dispute that occurred in another city.

2/22 ? Applications for Mental Detention and Observation?Briar Court -?At 12:49 a.m. officers responded to a possible suicidal female. The female was located and admitted to sending a text to a family member threatening to hurt herself. The female was detained for an emergency mental evaluation at JPS Hospital.

2/22 ? Assault by Contact (Family)?S. Dick Price Road -?At 5:09 p.m. officers responded to an assault complaint. A female forced her way into a residence that her spouse and child were staying in. The child is the subject of an ongoing dispute between the female and her spouse. Both are still legally married and there is no court order. The assault complaint is still under investigation.

2/22 ? Theft $100 to $750?Border Lane -?At 8:35 p.m. a victim reported that he had sold some electronic items through an app to another person. Later it was determined that the money was counterfeit.

2/22 ? Drugs/Narcotics?Mountain View Lane -?At 9:45 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The male driver was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be marijuana. The driver also had active arrest warrants from Kennedale for marijuana possession and Unlawful Carrying a Weapon. He was transported to jail without incident.

2/23 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence)?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 3:36 p.m. officers responded to an assault complaint. A female victim complained of being assaulted by a male suspect on scene. The victim exhibited injuries consistent with her account. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

2/23 ? Theft $100 to $750?Municipal Drive -?At 8:53 p.m. a victim complained to police that an unknown male purchased electronics equipment from her and her son using counterfeit money.

2/24 ? Theft $100 to $750?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 11:56 a.m. a victim reported that several suspects stole beer from a business and left in an identified vehicle.

2/24 ? Theft $750 to $2,500 Mansfield Cardinal Road -?At 3:21 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) removed a two-wheel car hauler from his property.

2/26 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Tealcove Drive -?At 7:52 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and removed tools.

2/27 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000?E. Kennedale Parkway -?At 4:15 p.m. a victim reported that known suspects came to his business for a diagnostic test on their vehicle. The victim plugged the diagnostic device into the vehicle and went into the business office for a moment. When he returned the vehicle and device were gone.

2/27 ? Hit and Run Accident?E. Kennedale Parkway -?At 5:29 p.m. a victim reported that her vehicle was struck by another vehicle that swerved over into her lane. The vehicle failed to stop and provide information as required by law.

2/27 ? Theft $100 to $750?Corry A. Edwards Drive -?At 6:48 p.m. a victim reported that her son?s iPhone was stolen.
?
2/27 ? Theft $100 to $750?Wildcat Way -?At 2:30 p.m. a victim reported that her AirPod earphones were stolen. The devices were traced to a friend who had the devices. The victim did not want to pursue further investigation after regaining her property.

2/27 ? Burglary of Vehicle?Oak Crest Dr. West -?At 7:15 a.m. a victim reported two batteries taken from his large truck during the overnight hours.

2/28 ? Obstruction or Retaliations?E. Kennedale Parkway -?At 4:42 p.m. a victim reported that he was threatened by a known suspect who had stolen an electronic device from the victim. The suspect threatened the victim for calling police to report the theft.

2/28 ? Hit and Run Accident?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 3:10 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown female backed into his vehicle and left the scene without stopping.

2/28 ? Application for Mental Detention and Observation?Mansfield Cardinal Road -?At 9:20 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Two females were on scene. One of the females was experiencing a mental health episode and was presenting a danger to herself and others. She was taken into custody for an emergency mental detention and evaluation. She was transported to JPS Hospital without incident.

2/28 ? Theft $100 to $750?Oak Crest Dr. East -?At 8:45 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) removed several weed trimmers from his driveway.

2/28 ? Theft $100 to $750?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 10:15 a.m. a victim reported that three unsecured bicycles were taken from her property.
