The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 12 incidents for the one week period June 30, 2019 through July 6, 2019. The reports included burglary, assault, possession, DWI and missing person. {{more: Continue ?}}?

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

Incident Reports …
6/30 ? Driving While Intoxicated … Averett Road – At 11:53 p.m. officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident. An SUV was reported to have left the roadway and struck a utility pole. On arrival, officers met with the driver of the vehicle (suspect), who smelled of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment and was placed under arrest. During the arrest, the suspect began to resist handcuffing by officers. During the handcuffing process, several family members arrived and one attempted to interfere with the arrest but was restrained by another family member. The suspect was handcuffed and transported to jail for booking. After obtaining a blood draw search warrant, the suspect?s blood sample was taken by medical staff at a local hospital. The suspect was booked in without incident.
6/30 ? Assault by Contact ? At 9:34 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. On arrival, a female victim reported that her husband had assaulted her during an argument. The husband was reported to have grabbed her in order to pull her from the house. The husband had fled the scene before officers arrived.
7/01 ? Driving While Intoxicated ? Little Road – At 1:56 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult male driver smelled of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested for DWI and transported to jail for booking. A blood draw search warrant was obtained. The blood sample was drawn by jail medical staff after booking.
7/01 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) ? Kennedale Parkway – At 2:48 a.m. an officer observed a suspicious female attempting to open doors on a closed business. Upon contacting the female, she advised that her boyfriend had assaulted her while arguing in their vehicle. She stated that she was ?kicked out? of the vehicle and the suspect drove off. The female stated that they lived nearby with the boyfriend?s parents. Due to the other Kennedale units being tied up, Forest Hill officers responded as assist units. The female was driven to the home where the parents were contacted. The boyfriend was not present but did walk up to the residence while officers were still investigating. After interviewing both the male and female it was determined that there was no primary aggressor but that they had mutually assaulted each other. Both were arrested for family violence assault and transported to jail for booking.
7/01 ? Sexual Assault (Child) ? On this date, a Kennedale investigator was contacted by Alliance for Children in regards to a sexual assault of a child that had occurred in Kennedale approximately two years ago. The juvenile victim made an outcry that she had been assaulted by another juvenile female. A report was generated for investigative purposes.
7/03 ? Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 ?? E. Kennedale Parkway – At 2:09 a.m. officers responded to a report of criminal mischief. A male victim reported that a female suspect had damaged his vehicle with a baseball bat during an argument. The argument was over the suspect using an extension cord to take power from the victim?s home. After giving several false names the suspect finally gave officers her legal name. A warrant check revealed multiple arrest warrants out of Kennedale and Cleburne. The suspect was transported to jail for booking.
7/03 ? Possession Drug Paraphernalia ? Bowman Springs Road -At 8:42 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer detected an odor of marijuana in the interior of the vehicle. It was discovered that the juvenile male driver was in possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was cited and released to his father who had responded to the scene.
7/03 ? Burglary of Vehicle ? Ruth Drive – At 9:45 a.m. a victim reported that his 2000 Chevrolet van was burglarized. The unsecured vehicle was missing a number of tools that were valued at $2,000.00.
7/04 ? Missing Person (Juvenile) ? W. Broadway Street – At 10:17 a.m. a female reported that her 16-year-old son was missing. The missing juvenile was last seen at work on July 1st of 2019.
7/05 ? Possession Control Substance ?? W. Kennedale Parkway – At 2:43 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was found to be in possession of an e-cigarette with THC oil. The driver was placed under arrest for the oil and transported to jail for booking.
7/04 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? Corry A. Edwards Drive – At 9:04 p.m. an adult female victim came to the police station to report that she had been assaulted by a known female suspect. The victim reported that she was at a party in Kennedale when the suspect approached her and began slapping the victim while holding a cell phone in her hand. The victim was able to leave in her vehicle. The next day the victim contacted police to report that after getting ill at work, she went to a local hospital and was found to have a concussion from the assault.
7/06 ? Burglary ? W. Kennedale Parkway – At 2:33 a.m. officers responded to a burglar alarm. On arrival, officers found the front door glass had been broken out after an unsuccessful attempt had been made to pry the door open. The male suspect was observed on security video entering the business and removing merchandise.
