The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 10 incidents for the one week period August 25, 2019, through August 31, 2019. The reports included theft, crimnial mischief, burglary, possession, assault, and fradulent use of ID.? {{more: continue …}}

8/25 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000 -?Cross Creek Drive:?At 2:21 a.m. officers responded to a theft in progress call. A resident reported hearing a loud noise and looked outside to see a family member?s vehicle missing from the driveway. The resident went out of the front door and observed the vehicle being driven away. The witness and another family member got into a vehicle to give chase and found the stolen vehicle abandoned a short distance away. No suspects were observed. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle being stolen had struck a tree and another vehicle belonging to the victim before driving away. In addition, a number of unlocked vehicles in the immediate neighborhood had been searched by unknown suspects. The stolen vehicle showed no signs of forced entry or tampering with the ignition system.

8/25 ? Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 -?At 1:09 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult male was located walking on Kennedale Parkway. The male had been in an argument with an adult female while riding inside a vehicle. The male grabbed some personal items and exited the vehicle. The female was located and it was determined that there had been no physical contact. Both persons were released at the scene. Later the female reported to an officer that in a subsequent argument, the male had broken her driver’s side car window and fled the scene. Efforts to locate the male were unsuccessful.

8/25 ? Burglary of Vehicle -?Cross Creek Drive: At 10:20 a.m. an officer received a report that during the overnight hours unknown person(s) entered his vehicle and removed a small amount of cash.

8/26 ? Drugs/Narcotics -?At 6:18 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance. On arrival, contact was made with a male on scene. The male stated that he was arguing with his ex-wife about missing property. The male was acting aggressively towards the officers. A computer check of the male revealed he was wanted on a felony theft warrant out of Mission, Texas. Officers also observed marijuana and methamphetamine inside the suspect?s vehicle. The suspect had a meth pipe in his pocket. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

8/27 ? Recovered Stolen Vehicle (Other Agency) -?E. Kennedale Parkway -?

At 2:36 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle was being driven by a juvenile male. Dispatch notified the officer that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Forest Hill. The driver was detained and released to a family member. The vehicle was claimed by the owner at the scene.

8/27 ? Possession of Controlled Substance -?900 block of W. Kennedale Parkway – At 6:50 p.m. officers initiated an investigation on an abandoned vehicle parked on the roadway shoulder. The vehicle had a license plate that belonged to another vehicle. The dash VIN was obscured by plastic but a check of the VIN on the frame showed to be on the correct vehicle. Two adult males approached the vehicle from a nearby wooded area. One of the males stated that the vehicle was purchased from a local salvage yard and the license plate was attached to the vehicle at that time. The owner did state that he had the title at home along with the sales receipt. During the interview, officers discovered that one of the males was in possession of narcotics paraphernalia and the other had methamphetamine on his person. The first suspect was cited for the paraphernalia and released at the scene. The second was arrested for the narcotics and was transported to jail for booking.

8/28 ? Abandoned/Found Property -?E. IH 20 -?At 12:21 a.m. an officer ran a license plate through the patrol vehicle?s mobile computer. The return showed arrest warrants attached for an adult male. The photo of the male that was displayed on the computer appeared to be the male passenger in the vehicle. After stopping the vehicle, the adult female driver was contacted. It was verified that the passenger was the wanted person and he was arrested for the warrants. The female had no driver?s license and was given a courtesy ride to her residence. The truck belonged to the male, who no insurance, and was impounded. The male was transported to jail for booking.

8/28 ? Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Info -?W. Kennedale Parkway -?At 4:14 p.m. a female reported to police that her identity was used by another person in a theft offense. The female stated that she had been summoned to Kennedale Municipal Court for an appearance on a theft citation. The female was able to identify a suspect as the suspect had written a letter to the victim admitting to using her identity.

8/29 ? Burglary of Vehicle -?Dick Price Road -?At 2:55 a.m. a victim reported that he observed a suspect near his vehicle, which was parked in the driveway. Upon calling out, the suspect entered a silver 4 door vehicle and fled the area. The victim discovered that a paint sprayer belonging to his employer was missing out of the bed of his truck.

8/29 ? Criminal Trespass -?Mansfield Cardinal Road -?At 11:20 a.m. a complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered onto her property and came near the complainant?s children. The complainant stated that the suspect would not leave until she obtained a firearm from inside of the residence.
