Don’t worry too much about the survivors though. They are the top contenders in their events at the UIL 4A State Championship Track and Field Meet coming next week in Austin.
Earlier last month at the 7-4A District meet, both the men?s and women?s track team grab the district title. At the UIL Area meet at Springtown on April 18, the Lady Kats finished 3rd while the boys finished in 4th place. KHS junior Alexis Brown has earned 12 gold medals in her last three track meets
The story? of the last couple meets has been the elite performances of the Lady Kat 4×100 relay team and Alexis Brown, who has won gold in each of the individual events she has entered from district to region along with gold as a member of the 4×100 relay team.?
The 4×100 team of Skylar Lewis (Fr), Alexis Brown (Jr), Daniell Cooper (So), Brianna Brown(Fr)?currently holds the top time in the 4X100 in Class 4A while Brown holds the top time in Class 4A in the 200 meter dash and the top distance in the long jump for Class 4A.
Brown is the most highly decorated KHS competitor this year. If you just count the gold from the 3 UIL track meets, she has earned 4 at district, 4 at area and 4 at region.
