It was an offensive display unlike anything Kennedale had done thus far this season as they continue their drive to go where no other Kennedale football team has gone before, the state finals.

Record News

Marc Bindel – Times Record

?They’re very physical and they’ve got a good scheme and good athletes,? Rider coach Marc Bindel said. ?It’s a hard offense to stop. Four or five years ago, Amarillo ran (the wing-T) really, really well. Ennis won state with it a couple years ago. Tonight was on that level. It was a freakin’ clinic.?

Richard Barrett (Staci

Otts)

?We were making adjustments to take something away and they’d hit us with something else,? Bindel said. ?(Kennedale coach Richard Barrett) is a really good play caller obviously. They’re just so good with their misdirection and even when we did know where the ball was they were driving us back at times.?

?As always, Kennedale remains a team to watch once they reach the Class 4A Division I playoffs,? Jonathan Hull, sportswriter.

His final stat line was far more monstrous. ?. Key Players: ? Kirven rushed for 255 yards and six touchdowns on just 19 carries. Senior running back Jaden Knowles had 127 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. As a team, Kennedale rushed for 537 yards on 54 carries, including four kneel-downs that resulted in a yard loss each.

Key stat: The Wildcats were also efficient passing the ball with quarterback Evan Jowers completing three of four attempts for 85 yards.
