Kennedale finished in 3rd place in District 7-4A behind Godley at (20-6, 9-1) and Alvarado (14-4, 8-2) with Springtown finishing in a 2nd place tied with Decatur in District 8-4A and behind 1st place Bridgeport.
Kennedale and Springtown met last year in the bi-district round in reverse positions with Springtown coming in as a 4th seed and Kennedale as a 1st seed. Kennedale won the one game playoff 19-2.Kennedale and Springtown have had only two common opponents, Godley and Midlothian Heritage. Springtown and Kennedale lost to Godley and both beat Midlothian Heritage.
Springtown is coming off of a 12-2 district loss to Decatur on April 19. Kennedale is coming off a crushing win over 5A Carrollton Creekview 11-0 in a playoff warm-up game.
