Kennedale Lady Kats Varsity took down Brownwood 7-1 on Friday at Graham after slamming Brownwood with four runs in the second inning. This was a one-game playoff with the winner advancing.Mackenzie Bay had two extra-base hits for Kennedale. She doubled in the first and fourth innings and singled in the sixth inning. {{more}}?Allie Turner got the win for the Lady Kats thanks to 11 strikeouts. Turner allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks over five innings.?Kennedale batters broke open the game in the bottom of the third with the score at 0-0 by scoring 4 runs. It started with a single by Cheyenne Trotter, a ground ball by Maegan Garza, a sacrifice by Rebekah Abair followed by pop-up by Wooden which scored Trotter. Garza scored on a bad throw. ?Bay reached on a line drive to center field. Wooden steals home and Allie Turner singles with a pop-up. Bay steals home to give the Lady Kats a 4-0 lead.?The Kats posted one run in each of the third, fourth and sixth. In the third, Kennedale scored on an RBI single by C. Trotter, bringing home Jazlyn Crowder. In the fourth Aubrey Wooden scores on a steal after hitting a single and then reaching 3rd off of a double by Bay. In the sixth Kennedale scores their last run after Bay reaches on a single and then scores on a single by Elizabeth Schiele.??
