LadyKats sweep Diamond Hill 17-0 fall to Godley 8-5

The Kennedale LadyKats, 15-2, won the district series with Diamond Hill last week but were upset by Godley in a 8-5 decision during the second round of district play.
 
The loss put the Kats into a tie with Godley with both teams having one more game to play in district. {{more}}Barring another upset, the LadyKats of Kennedale will play the Godley Wildcats in a tie breaker game sometime later this week

Meanwhile, Kennedale finishes district play with a game against Venus tonight, Tuesday, at Venus with game time scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Over before it had barely started, the Diamond Hill game ended in the 3 inning on the 10 run rule. The LadyKats in two innings of play scored 17 runs on 14 hits with 14 RBIs.
 
Allie Turner got the win, striking out 6 with no runs,allowing 1 hit and 2 walks. She faced 12 batters, throwing 34 strikes in 60 pitches. She got 3 groundouts.
 
Nine Kennedale players got hits with Turner leading the way with 3 hits, 3 RBIs and 1 homerun.

Kennedale allowed Godley one big inning and lost the game and sole possession of 1st place.
 
After 4 innings of play the game was tied at 2 when in the bottom of the fifth the LadyKats responded with 2 runs to take the lead, a lead that held until the top of 7th.
 
In un-characteristic fashion for the Kats, Godley was allowed to score six runs in the 7th while Kennedale was only able to match with one.
 
No opponent this season has been allowed to score more than 4 runs in a complete game. Not helping themselves the LadyKats also committed 5 errors which was also a first for this team.
 
Allie Turner recorded the loss for Kennedale. She allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked six and struck out eight. She threw 159 pitches with 90 strikes and 12 ground/fly outs.
 
Godley jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Kennedale matched that with one run of its own in the third when Godley?s Reeves walked 4. Mary Grace Howard did get a single in the inning.
 
In the fourth, Godley scored another run off of two doubles. Kennedale did likewise with two doubles by Alexa Neifert and Turner.
 
Kennedale went ahead 4-2 with two runs in the bottom of the 5th off of two walks, Elizabeth Schiele and Jazlyn Crowder and a two run double by Rebekah Abair.
 
The game’s last lead went to Godley thanks to a seventh inning rally that saw six runs cross the plate on an error, a sacrifice fly by B Brummer, and two singles.
 
With two on and no outs in the bottom of the 7th, Kennedale tried to rally after Schiele reached on a walk and Crowder hit a double. Aylssa Bradberry grounded out and a sacrifice fly by Abair scored one run but gave the Kats their second out. Ashley McKlvaney walked which gave Kennedale runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs but the inning ended with on a 2-2 count when Jamie Franks struck out swinging.
