Last year?s LadyKat softball 20-8 and #2 ranked team was unceremoniously dumped from the playoffs last year in the second round play-off action. [See story]. This year, the LadyKats were out to prove that was the exception. {{more}}They made their case by sweeping Graham in second round action this year, beating the Lady Blues 7-1 and 10-0 to advance to the region quarterfinals this week.

Graham committed seven errors and couldn?t solve Alexa Neifert as Kennedale eliminated the Lady Blues with a 10-0 win Saturday in Game 2.
Neifert limited Graham (14-10) to two hits. Neifert, allowing no runs, got 6 strike outs with 46 strikes in 66 throws and was backed up with 11 ground/fly outs.
The Lady Kats scored six runs in the first two innings, knocking Graham’s Lexie Allen from the game.
A groundout by Mary Grace Howard and an RBI double by Elizabeth Schiele during the first inning and an RBI double by Alexa Neifert, an RBI double by Howard, and a two-run double by Jazlyn Crowder in the second inning fed the 6 run in the first two innings.
For the game, Allie Turner tripled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
In the bottom of the 4th the Kats score three more runs on heads up base running as Graham committed two errors in the inning where Neifert was hit a pitch, Howard reached on error, Crowder reached on an error and a groundout by Schiele.
Then in the bottom of the sixth, Kennedale score the final run needed to end the game under the 10 run rule off of a Schiele single, a successful bunt by Alyssa Bradberry and a ground out by Rebekah Abair.at Game Changer
