Wildcats take first game in playoff series 7-1

Friday night in Kennedale, the Wildcat baseball team claimed an early advantage in a bi-district playoff 3 game series with the Bridgeport Bulls, winning 7-1.
 
The series moves back to Bridgeport with game #2 scheduled for 1 p.m. and, in this best of three series, game 3#, if needed, will follow 30 minutes later. {{more}}
 

The Wildcats took an early lead with a run in the first followed by another in the fourth and finished with three in the 5th and two in the 6th. Bridgeport could only manage one run which came in the 4th.

 
For the game Kennedale (13-8-1) had 7 runs on nine hits and one error. Bridgeport had 1 run on 6 hits and 1 error.
 
Austin Eggleston recorded the win while striking out 7 and walking 1 over seven innings. In 94 throws he threw 64 strikes with the team backing him up on 12 ground/fly outs.
 
Aaron Williams racked up three RBIs including a two-run homer in the 5th.
