The Kennedale Lady Kat stretched it to 5 sets on Tuesday to earn their 11th consecutive bi-district title dating back to 2007-08 but fell in 3 hard fought sets in the area round on Thursday. {{more: continue …}}
Bi-district Round: Kennedale vs Stephenville ?
The #2 seed Lady Kats entered the playoffs at 17-24 overall and were 11-1 in district play, while the #3 seed Lady Jackets were 20-21 and 8-4. The game was played at Aledo High School on Tuesday.
Kennedale, who had a 10 year streak going in bi-district wins put an 11th title in serious jeopardy when they fell behind by losing the first two set by large margins, 25-11 and 25-14. Kennedale had to sweep the next three. It wasn?t easy but to the great disappointment of the Lady Jackets, the Kats pulled it off by winning 25-21, 25-17 and in a fitting thriller 18-16.

Area Round: Kennnedale vs Graham …
Kennedale, who hasn?t won an area round match since 2010, followed Tuesday exhausting win by playing the TGCA 5th ranked Lady Blues (34-6, 8-0) from Graham High School.
On paper it might have seemed a mismatch but for Graham, the favorite, it proved to harder than expected. Graham did win in three but had to work for it. Winning the match 25-21, 25-22 and 25-22.
The Kats (18-24, 11-1) are finished for the year but not with heads hanging. This young team which won a forth district title and a 11th consecutive bi-district title is set to make a serious challenge in 4A over the next couple years. Expect the Kats to start next season listed as one of the teams to beat.
