That makes it official, all three city incumbents have decided that they are willing to serve another two-year term. So far, they are unopposed. Councilmember Chris Pugh (Place 2) and Councilmember Linda Rhodes (Place 4) filed for re-election earlier last month.

School district has a contest …

Moody’s entrance as a candidate for Place 7 on the KISD School Board means that the position will be contested.? Incumbent John Hunt filed earlier for re-election.? Hunt currently serves as the board president but that position is not tied to Place 7.? The board president is elected annually by the full board after the general election are held and new board members have been sworn into office.

So far, only one individual has filed for? Place 6, currently held by Shawn Ham.? Bailey Torcoletti?filed last month. At least one other person has picked up a candidate packet for that position.

Terms of office for school board are three years.? There are just two school board positions up for election this year.

Filings will be accepted during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the City of Kennedale and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for KISD, excluding holidays). There is no filing fee. On February 14, the final day to file for office, both the city and the school district will accept applications until 5 p.m.
