Last Wednesday, September 18, a new restaurant opened its doors for business at 324 West Kennedale Parkway in the former location of Annie Lane?s.?The restaurant sits back off of the main stretch of road through Kennedale and across the street from Tire Plus and P & P Mart. It is in a small white wood frame house and it does have that simple ?down home? feel.
?
Cynthia McKnight, the owner and chef, had a similar restaurant for 7 years {{more}}in Grand Prairie. She said that this is a family owned and operated business.
?
She had been looking for another location when one of the residents [of Kennedale], John Amos, told her about this building.??So I came out here and looked at it and saw that it was a pretty good building, a pretty good location and it seemed like a small town and [I liked that] because I am from a real small town,” said McKnight. “I am from Texas but the family is from Louisiana.?
?
When the Kennedale News ask why this type of food? ?McKnight replied ?That is what the family does. It is a family business. It is a family recipe? and she laughed and added, ?And it is a secret.?
?
She said that she was pleased, very happy with the crowds so far.
