It?s fun for us to experience worlds where people have superhuman strength to protect innocent earthlings from evil alien forces. For instance, The Incredibles, Batman, Superman, Power Puff Girls, Spider Man, Hancock, Power Rangers all have superhuman powers and strength. No matter which superhero you claim has the best skills or wears the best costume, all super beings have something in common. They all are armed with weapons or abilities and are ready for combat.

Likewise, Christians should always suit up for battle. We?re in spiritual warfare each and everyday of our lives. In the real world, supernatural forces of evil are not as overt as they are in the movies and comic books. But our enemy is real and dangerous. We go head-to-head with principalities and powers, cosmic armies of darkness that have been deployed to destroy us. We need more than human strength to fight. Our true strength comes from God, and his weapons are built to withstand all the attacks from our enemy. We must put on the whole armor of God.

Let?s wake up every day ready to use every piece of protection God has given us. We can defend ourselves with truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, relentless faith, and salvation. Prayer is a powerful weapon. Earnest prayer and God’s Word can be used to strike back against the enemy. In case you forgot, God is our true superpower! Thanks be to God

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your strength. Remind us that we are victorious through you. Amen.

See you on Sunday!

“I don’t know how, but I know WHO!”

Peace,
Pastor Nelda
