KPD Chief Tommy Williams issued the following statement
On 04-08-2014, at 1:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 600 block of Tealcove Drive (across from Walmart on Little Road) in reference to an assault with shots fired.
On arrival the officers met with a witness who stated that he had the victim in his apartment. The victim, a 36 year old male, stated that he had been at his home earlier when he received a phone call from a known male individual {{more}} (Suspect 1). The male stated he was coming to the apartment. The victim believed that the suspect was coming to speak to his roommate about a debt that he owed.
The victim stated that he later heard a knock on the door and answered it. Suspect 1 was present with two other male suspects. The suspects forced their way into the apartment while assaulting the victim with their fists. They stripped the victim of his clothing except for his underwear.
Suspect 1 and a second suspect were both armed with handguns. Suspect 1 held his gun to the victim?s head. The suspects attempted to bind the victim when he ran out of the apartment.
The victim fled across the parking lot with Suspect 1 in pursuit. Suspect 1 fired several shots at the victim but did not hit him. The victim ran to an apartment and the resident allowed him to enter and call for police.
During this time the suspects all left the scene and were gone on the officers? arrival. The victim was treated by Kennedale Fire/Rescue paramedics for injuries received during the assault. He was transported via ambulance to an unknown hospital.
The case remains under investigation. There has been a tentative ID of one of the suspects with the assistance of the Arlington PD.
