The Kennedale LadyKats have made it to the regional quarter finals after a dominating 5-0 win over Celina Friday night in the area round of the UIL playoffs. {{more: CONTINUE …}}
 
It was a strong showing for the #1 LadyKats as expected. Kennedale scored three times in the first half off of goals by {{t2:Alondra Olmos (Sr): }}, {{t2:Eryka McIntyre (So): }} and {{t2:Baylee Gow (Sr):

}}. In the second half, McIntyre scored again and {{t2:Cara Hunt (Sr): }} put the finish touch on the 5-0 game with her own goal.

Now comes the tough part ?
 

From this point out, the teams represents the best in the state. The next game is a case in point. Kennedale will play Midlothian Heritage Monday at RL Anderson Stadium in Mansfield at 6 pm.

 
Midlothian Heritage is one of those instant success stories. This is only their second year as a high school. This year, they finished as District 8-4A champs at 8-0 and compiled a 20-3-3. Last year, when they were in the same district as Kennedale, they finished 2nd behind the LadyKats with a 13-9-1, 6-2 record. They went 2 deep into the playoffs, losing out to Melissa in the area round 5-0.
 
Midlothian Heritage and Kennedale have not played each other this year, but have some common opponents. Both have a win over Life Oak Cliff ? Kennedale won 12-1 and Midlothian H won 9-0.
 
Both have a tie with Argyle with Kennedale with a 2-2 tie and Midlothian H a 3-3 tie. Midlothian Heritage did beat Argyle Friday by a score 4-2 in their area round game.
 
Kennedale beat Lake Worth twice 8-0 and 8-0. Midlothian H beat Lake Worth twice 10-0 and then in the first round of the playoffs 5-0.
 
Kennedale beat Melissa 2-1. Midlothian H lost 4-1. Kennedale beat Abilene Wylie 1-0 and Midlothian H lost to Wylie 4-0.

This looks to be all the game it should be. The first two games of the playoffs were walks for the state champion Lady Kats. But, the Kats are in everyone sights now.
 
Nothing new for Kennedale LadyKats who remain as the odds on favorite .
