The Kennedale LadyKats will play Celina today in an Area Round game of the UIL Soccer Championship playoffs. The game will be played at 6 pm at Southlake Dragon Stadium in Southlake. {{more:CONTINUE …}}

Celina had a first round bye last week. The Lady Bobcats, playing in a strong district finished in 3rd place in District 5-4A behind Melissa and Argyle at 4-4 and 10-8-2 overall this year.

 
For the Bobcats, the players to watch are senior Haley Berg who has 45 goals and 9 assist for 99 points and senior Evelyn Quiroz has had 17 goals and 5 assist for 39 points.
 
Kennedale (19-1-1, 10-0) and Celina have not played this year but have had two common opponents, Melissa and Argyle. Kennedale beat Melissa 2-1 and tied Argyle 2-2. Celina lost to Argyle twice this year in district play, 7-4 and 5-2. Celina lost to Melissa twice in district play, 3-1 and 3-1.

Kennedale is coming off a 12-1 win over Life Oak Cliff, a 4th seed from District 8-4A.
