Praise in the Park will be held this Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Town Center Park in downtown Kennedale. It is sponsored by Kennedale area churches and is billed as the largest church picnic Kennedale has ever seen, filled with free Christian entertainment, games, picnic food, and an open invitation for the whole community. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, and come enjoy the fellowship of your local Christian community. Open to the public.
This Saturday in Town Center Park you can stop by for some good ol? red beans and rice, cornbread and sweet tea while you enjoy visiting with members of the community from 2- 4 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Kennedale Historical Society and is part of the society?s annual membership drive. Special guest speaker will be Vera Coker who will talk about the Mineral Well Clinic (not to be confused with Mineral Wells the city), Frog Island and the hotel and train depot in Kennedale. Everyone is welcomed.
Kennedale High School has several activities beginning Friday. The Lady Kat Volleyball team will host Venus with an early varsity game at 4:30 p.m. The undefeated, state-ranked #4 KHS Wildcats will be playing Springtown in a football game beginning at 7:30 p.m. Also this evening, the Kennedale Theater Department is putting on their first play of the year, ?The Leading Ladies? with a curtain time of 7:30 p.m. Additional times for the comedy are Saturday at 7:30 p.m and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
