Springtown first district opponent for Wildcats

The Kennedale Wildcats (5-0) face their first district opponent, the Springtown Porcupines (3-2), Friday night at Wildcat Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. weather permitting. {{more}}
 
Springtown returns six players on offense and four on defense. Although they did lose star quarterback Landry Turner who moved to Graham, the Porcupines are considered a solid team and were picked to finish third behind Kennedale and Alvarado this season.
 
The Porcupines finished last year with 6-6 record and were 4-1 in district, second behind first place Kennedale. They went two deep in the playoffs.
 
So far this season Springtown has 645 total yards, rushing for 366 and passing for 279. Kennedale has 2599 total yards, rushing for 2418 and passing for 181.
 
Springtown has beaten Vernon 33-26, Wichita Falls Hirschi 51-20 and Decatur 49-21. They lost to Argyle Liberty Christian 54-20 and Brownwood 30-7.
 
Kennedale has beaten Crowley 56-20, Gainesville 14-7, Dunbar 76-7, Kaufman 56-13 and Dallas Carter 70-21.
