Kylee Howard and Maria Lopez from Kennedale High School have qualified for the UIL State Girls Powerlifting Meet this week. The top 2 or 3 places in each weight class from last month’s region meet have advanced to the state meet. There are 11 weight classes. {{more}}
Kylee (Class 6) lifted 280 in squats, 135 in bench press, 285 in dead lift for a total of 700 lbs and 3rd place. Maria (Class 7) lifted 300 in squats, 155 in bench and 315 in dead lift for a total of 770 lbs and 2nd.
Also, competing in the Region 6, Division 2 at Wylie High School February 28, 2015, were LadyKats Marlina DeLeon (Class 2) 195, 80, 205 for total 480 and 5th; and, Emily Dehnel (Class 8) 310, 125, 270 for a total 705 lbs and 5th.Erica Rico (Class 1) also participated but was disqualified for technical reasons. In her earlier meet she did 185, 85, 215 for 485 total which would have placed her 2nd in her weight class at the regional meet.
The state UIL meet is this Friday and Saturday, March 20-21 in Corpus Christi.For complete results see Region 6,Division 2 results
