Elsewhere in the AP Top Ten, #2 Gilmer and #10 Abilene Wylie recorded the only losses for the Top Ten, both by the hands of higher ranked opponents. The biggest game of the weekend was when the #1 and the #2 teams battled it out on Saturday. The top Division I team, #1 Carthage, downed the #2 Gilmer Buckeyes from Division II by a score of 48-28.
