48 boys and girls teams in annual holiday tournament

 
Both Kennedale High School varsity basketball teams will once again participate in the annual Whataburger Basketball Tournament, {{more:Read more …}}December 28 through Friday, December 30.
 

If you like high school basketball this is a treat. It is one of the oldest and most well-known holiday tournaments in North Texas. There are three divisions – the Orange Division at BISD W.G. Thomas Coliseum for boys 5 & 6A schools; the Blue Division at Chisholm Trail High School for Boys in 4 & 3A schools; and, the Girls Blue Division at Saginaw High School. Find out more @ 2016

Whataburger Tournament

 
The Wildcats and Lady Kats will be playing in the Blue Division. In each division, last year’s champion will be returning. For the the Boys Blue it was Abilene Wylie and for the Girls Boy it was Waco La Vega. The list of teams below includes current ranking per the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) followed by the teams classification, either 4A or 3A.

Teams in the Boys Blue Division include #6 4A Abilene Wylie, #3 4A Argyle, Argyle Liberty Christian, Austin Bowie, #4 3A Brock, #11 4A Burkburnett, #19 4A Decatur, #13 3A Jarrell, Kennedale, Liberty Hill, Muenster, Nacogdoches Central Heights, #6 3A Peaster, #5 4A Ponder, Seminole and #10 3A Wall.
 
Girls Blue Division …
 
Teams in the Girls Blue Division include #7 4A Abilene Wylie, #10 (Private) Argyle Liberty Christian, Christoval, #1 (Private) Dallas Christian, #4 4A Kennedale, #5 (Private) Fort Worth Lake Country Christian, La Vega, #2 4A Liberty Hill, #4 3A Little River Academy, Panhandle, #18 4A Ponder, Sanger, Seminole, #9 4A Stephenville, #3 3A Tuscola Jim Ned and #2 3A Wall
 
Fans interested in attending the tournament can purchase tickets at each of the tournament?s three venues. Tickets are $9 for a single day pass, $22 for a three-day pass at a single venue, $36 for a three-day pass at Chisholm Trail and Saginaw venues and $55 for a three-day pass for all games and venues throughout the tournament. Senior citizen and student discounts are also available.
 
?As always, we?re excited about the talented teams that have chosen to travel to Fort Worth for the tournament this year,? noted Tournament Director Tom Rogers. ?We?re also proud to have a team from outside Texas, Little Rock Parkview, join us again this year. Not only do players get the opportunity to sharpen their skills at this tournament with teams they would not normally play, but it also allows them to showcase the gifted players they are.?
