Wildcats, playing in the Blue Division at Chisholm High School, will open pool play against Burkburnett at 1 p.m. The Lady Kats playing at 4 p.m. at Saginaw High School, will open pool play against Argyle.

The #15 state ranked Wildcats are currently 10-9 and 1-0 in district play. The Cats opened district before Christmas with a 67-43 win over Mineral Wells and will play Castleberry next Tuesday, January 2 at Castleberry.?The Cats own non-district wins over Ranchview (61-55 OT), La Vega (55-40), San Antonio South Central (59-57), Saginaw (56-51), China Springs (62-59), North Forney (72-47), Western Hills (60-56), El Paso Riverside (85-60) and Kaufman (55-49).

The Whataburger Boys Blue Division is loaded with highly ranked teams which include: #3 Seminole, #8 Center, #12 Abilene Wylie, #15 Kennedale, #22 Argyle, #24 Burkburnett in Class 4A along with 3A powers #1 Bowie, #3 Brock, #5 Ponder and #8 Peaster. Class 2A and 1A includes the defending 2016 State Champion #10 Muenster, and 1A highly #2 ranked Nazareth boys. Other teams making up the field are Central Heights, Decatur, Liberty Christian, and Liberty Hill.
