LITTLE ROCK ? The UALR women?s basketball team and coach Joe Foley announced on Tuesday morning the signing of junior college forward Autummn Williams for the 2015-16 season.

Williams, a native of Rochester, N.Y., played two years of basketball at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas under coach Gerald Ewing. {{more}}In her time with the Cardinals, Williams won the NJCAA Division I national championship in 2014 and finished third in the nation during the 2015 season. Williams? teams at TVCC went a combined 68-5 in her time there, and she was a starter for both years.

Williams played her high school basketball for Kennedale High School in Kennedale, Texas. She was ranked as the No. 43 played by ESPN HoopGurlz in 2012 and the No. 64 player in Texas in 2011. She averaged 14.3 points per game in high school, picking up 37 points in one game as her career high. She picked up more than 500 rebounds, 500 steals, 300 assists and 125 blocks during her two years at Kennedale. She was also named to numerous All-Region, All-State, All-District and All-Tournament teams throughout her high school career.A Region 14 All-Conference and All-Tournament Team selection in 2015, Williams averaged 12.9 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists per game in her sophomore season. She scored a season-best 20 points in the national semifinals against Chipola College last season, and she had a season high of 10 rebounds against Odessa College in November.

As a freshman at TVCC, Williams put up 8.4 points per game on 44.1 percent shooting. She was also 32.4 percent from the 3-point line and brought down 3.1 rebounds per game. Her Cardinals team suffered just one loss all year and rattled off 29 consecutive victories to end the season.

UALR?s 2015-16 season is set to begin in November with dates and opponents still to be announced. Sun Belt action begins on Dec. 30 at South Alabama.
