Students enrolled in Ms. Naugtonā€™s Counseling and Mental Health course recently invested time in raising self-awareness regarding the emerging topic of mental health disorders, social and emotional needs and overall wellness. As part of the project, students were tasked with identifying a mental disorder of their interest, and then study it in great detail, learning facts, various nuances, and important reminders for each. Afterwards, they were then assigned to present the topic in the form of posters that were displayed throughout the gallery in an appropriate exhibit of various mental health issues. Recently then, student peers examined the various displays by their classmates, to learn more about each topic. Those included sleep disorder, substance-related, sleep deprivation disorder, personality, and more. In all, this hands on assignment raised awareness of various ailments and disorders and helped students learn from one another in the process.
