Obituary

Francisca Garcia Martinez, 81, was living in Grand Prairie, Texas when she passed away at home on July 20, 2020 at 2:10PM.  She was born on November 1, 1938 in Weslaco, Texas to Ernesto and Francisca Garcia.

Francisca was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and tia.  She started out working at a young age thereby instilling in her children a strong work ethic.  After she got married, she took care of her children, grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.  Francisca was a devot Catholic, praying for family every day.  She loved all her family and will be greatly missed.

Francisca married her husband Juan Martinez in 1959 in Ennis, Texas.  They were married for 48 years with six children.

Francisca was preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Francisca Garcia, her siblings Reynaldo, Rita, Rodolfo, Ruben, Rosa, Ernesto, Margarita, Juan; husband, Juan Martinez and daughter Irma Martinez.

Francisca is survived by her children, John Jr. Martinez (Virginia) of Arlington, Texas, Gloria Gonzalez (Vincent) of Burleson, Texas, Blanca Estela Woodard (Roger) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Alexander Martinez (Elva) of Southlake, Texas Rose Marie Montejano (Carlos) of San Antonio, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Tina Gonzalez (Alex), Guinevere Gonzalez, Richard Gonzalez (Candra), Carmen Perez (Louis), Christopher Woodard (Yvette), Zachary Woodard (Laci), Paul Woodard, Selena Woodard, Jesse Martinez; and three step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Joshua Gonzalez, Adeline Gonzalez; and five half siblings and several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service for Francisca will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10:00AM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale.  The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 6:00-9:00PM with a Rosary beginning at 7:00PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.  Facial masks are required to attend the visitation and funeral service.
