Incidents August 16 – 22, 2020

8/16 — Assault Bodily Injury
Hudson Village Creek Road
At 11:51 p.m. officers responded to an assist officer call. An off-duty officer was intervening in an assault between a male suspect and a female victim. The victim was interviewed along with witnesses who confirmed the assault. The suspect had departed the location before officers arrived. 

8/16 — Theft $2,500 to $30,000
Reeves Lane
At 9:03 a.m. a victim reported that his unsecured 2002 Chevrolet van was stolen overnight. 

8/17 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
W. Kennedale Parkway
At 5:10 a.m. officers responded to a report of a male being chased by an unknown person(s). The male reported that he had been chased by several people who could “blend in and appear as normal people.” It became obvious that the male was suffering from a mental episode of some sort. He was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention and evaluation. 

8/19 — Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence)
Mansfield Cardinal Road
At 5:09 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult child reported that she was assaulted by her father while trying to retrieve property from her parents’ home. The victim refused to cooperate with officers and refused to write a statement. The suspect was not present at the time of the report. 

Incidents August 23 – 29, 2020 …

8/23 — Driving While Intoxicated
E. Kennedale Parkway
At 12:51 a.m. officers responded to a report of a reckless driver. Before officers could arrive on the
scene, the suspect vehicle struck an oncoming vehicle due to the suspect driving on the wrong side of the roadway. The suspect appeared to be intoxicated and failed to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for a voluntary blood draw. Due to the accident that the suspect was involved in, he was released to medical personnel. A warrant will be issued at a later date. 

8/24 — Aggravated Assault Firearm (Serious Bodily Injury)
Village Street
At 6:01 a.m. the Kennedale Police Department received a call in reference to a shooting. The victim was located at Bowman Springs Road and I-20, on the north side service road. Officers determined that the actual offense occurred at 100 Village Street. The victim, a male, reported that he had met a female on a relationship app and arranged to meet her at the Village Street location. They met shortly before 6:00 a.m. The female entered the vehicle and was speaking with the victim when a male suspect approached the vehicle from the driver’s side. The victim attempted to drive away as the suspect fired one shot, hitting the victim in the left shoulder. The victim struck the suspect’s vehicle as the suspect fired two more shots into the victim’s car. The female exited the vehicle during this time. The victim left the area and drove to Bowman Springs Road and I-20, where he called the police and an ambulance. The suspect was taken to JPS Hospital by ambulance. His condition is unknown at this time. The suspects fled the scene and have not been located. 

8/24 — Application for Mental Detention and Observation
E. Kennedale Parkway
At 7:31 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed person. A female reported being depressed over personal issues and was threatening to do self-harm. The female was taken into custody for an emergency mental detention and evaluation. She was transported to JPS Hospital. 

8/27 — Theft under $100
W. Kennedale Parkway
At 3:29 p.m. a complainant reported a beer theft from a business. The suspects, both males, left in a blue mini-van. 

8/27 — Incident (Other)
E. Kennedale Parkway
At 12:35 p.m. an officer received a report of a hit and run accident. A victim reported being rear-ended at a signal light by another vehicle, which then turned off of the highway and drove away without stopping. There was no damage to the victim’s vehicle.

8/28 — Recovered Stolen Vehicle (Other Agency)
Valley Lane
At 10:14 p.m. an officer responded to a major accident. A Chevrolet truck had been driven into a power pole and abandoned. The driver could not be located. During the investigation, it was learned that the truck was reported stolen in Fort Worth. The vehicle was impounded for Fort Worth police. 

8/29 — Assault by Contact
W. Kennedale Parkway
At 12:22 p.m. a victim reported being assaulted by an unknown male that came to his shop. The suspect struck the victim once and left the scene. The victim was not injured. 

8/29 — Driving While Intoxicated
S. Dick Price Road
At 9:15 officers responded to a major accident. A female was driving erratically, according to witnesses, and then left the roadway. The suspect driver was not injured but did appear to be intoxicated. She was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The suspect was arrested for DWI and transported to a hospital for a voluntary blood draw. She was then booked into jail without incident. 

8/29 — Hit and Run Accident
Wildcat Way
At 3:00 p.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. A victim reported that her vehicle was struck by two other vehicles driving in tandem. Both vehicles continued driving without stopping. The victim was not injured.
