Senior year can be full of excitement, challenges and yes, some disappointments. Luckily, being 17 or 18 years old, the disappointments will be replaced by what is coming next or what unexpected thing maybe be just around the next corner.
For the seniors playing for the Kennedale Lady Kats, Tuesday night was one of those few disappointments. Sanger (26-14-1) defeated Kennedale (32-7-1) in the first round of the UIL State Volleyball playoffs. Box Score: 25-17, 18-25, 23-25, 18-25 (Kennedale score is listed first).
This was a senior-laden team that included Amaya Constantino, Avery Petters, Bridget Barton, Casey Guerry, Graycn Reed, Hailey Limbaugh, Madeline Pyles, Mikayla Guerry and Taylor Poore. All of them earned All-District Athletic honors as well as Academic recognition.
But this was another good year for the Lady Kat volleyball program. Kennedale went into the playoffs ranked 5th by MaxPreps in Class 4A, 7th by Texas Volleyball Insiders, and 12th by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Kennedale entered the playoffs for the 15th straight year and earned their 4th straight district title and without a loss in district play.
