KISD Public Relations Coordinator Erin Hyden released the following statement Tuesday in regards to?Kennedale ISD Safety and Security Audit.?“Late yesterday, Kennedale ISD was notified that Texas Attorney General, Greg Abbott,released a statement indicating that Kennedale ISD is one of 78 school districts with no school safety audit on file with the Texas School Safety Center. In compliance with Texas Education Code, Kennedale ISD routinely conducts {{more}} independent, security audits of Kennedale ISD schools. Kennedale ISD?s most recent audit was conducted and completed on March 12, 2011. All campuses have safety plans which include intruder and lockdown protocols as part of their emergency procedures and are required to practice this training regularly. We are currently working withthe Texas School Safety Center to rectify this issue. The safety of our students is our most important responsibility and we are committed to maintaining a calm and safe learning environment for our staff and students.”
